WORKING VISIT TO THE KINGDOM OF SWEDEN AS A PART OF THE DELEF PROJECT INITIATION PHASE

09.11.2023 22:59

As a part of the DELEF project implementation, representatives of the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs and Republic Authority for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs had the opportunity to visit the Swedish Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registration Authority Lantmäteriet during the period of November 6-10, 2023. The reason of the visit is the preparation of the project’s initial report, as well as the overall work plan and activities from 2024 to 2028.

During the working visit, emphasis was placed on defining risks related to the DELEF project, which will be focused on four key areas of support: Overall Capacity Development, Mass valuation, Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) and Geodetic Infrastructure. The project purpose is overall capacity building of the project partners, the Federal Geodetic Administration and Republic Geodetic Authority, and thus a contribution to their transformation into modern, technologically developed, reliable and efficient public administration bodies.

One of the key elements of this visit was documenting the analysis of how DELEF project activities contribute to achieving the goals of the 2030 UN Agenda. With regard on the global challenges, the DELEF project has a significant focus on easily accessible and transparent information, which ensures the efficiency of geodetic administrations in collecting and distributing their data.

The project purpose is far-reaching and the implementation itself will focus on effective learning and measurable results in order to ensure capacity building and achieve sustainable application.

A total Grant of SEK 44 million was awarded for the project implementation, which includes all costs of the Lantmäteriet, which is in charge of implementation. The Project will be carried out during the period from the 1st August 2023 to the 31st July 2028 (the Activity Period).
