Official visit to the State Geodetic Administration of the Republic of Croatia

Thanks to the long-standing successful cooperation between the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs (FGA) and the State Geodetic Administration of the Republic of Croatia (SGA), a meeting of two delegations was held in the premises of the State Geodetic Administration on December 12, 2023. On this occasion, the FGA delegation was led by Director, Mr. Željko Obradović, while DGA delegation was led by Director, Mr. Antonio Šustić. This meeting represents the realization of long-term and good partnership relations between two institutions, which are the basis for strengthening cooperation in the land administration sector.

Special attention is devoted to the Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) in accordance with the EU INSPIRE directive, which aims to enable sharing and harmonization of the geospatial information at the European level. The two delegations exchanged experiences and best practices in the implementation of the EU INSPIRE directive, with an emphasis on the improving access to the geospatial data and facilitation their availability.

In addition, the participants also discussed on the register of buildings, mass valuation and other relevant questions related to the land administration sector. Despite their own specificities, the delegations emphasized the importance of harmonizing with modern standards of geodetic business and practice, such as survey projects and land register establishment according to the new cadastral survey. These project play a key role in improving of ownership transparency, legal security and property system in general.

An agreement was reached that the regular meetings between the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs and the State Geodetic Administration of the Republic of Croatia will be continued, which indicates the commitment of both institutions in strengthening cooperation, as well as exchanging experiences and best practices in the geodetic sector.

The commitment of both institutions in achieving high standards in the land administration sector, which will improve the quality of geodetic services and contribute to legal security and ownership transparency, was also emphasized.
