DELEF PROJECT KICK OFF MEETING

On October 10, 2023, a Kick off meeting regarding to the start of the implementation of the DELEF project (Digital Enhancement of Land Management for the European Future of Bosnia and Herzegovina) was held in Banja Luka, hosted by the Republic Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs of RS.

The meeting served as a gathering of managers, officials, project partners and institutions involved in Bosnia and Herzegovina land administration sector and project activities. The delegation of the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs was led by Director, Mr. Željko Obradović, who greeted the attendees and emphasized the importance of the project implementation as well as benefits expected for the FGA service users.

The attendees was also addressed by the Director of the Republic Authority for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs of RS, Mr. Dragan Stanković, the representatives of donors,the Swedish mapping, cadastral and land registration authority, as well as the head of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Government of the Kingdom of Sweden, through the Swedish Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registration Authority Lantmäteriet, has been helping the Western Balkans region countries in the process of reforming and improving the land administration sector for many years. Through the previously successfully implemented CILAP project (“Capacity Building for Improvement of Land Administration and Procedures in Bosnia and Herzegovina), the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) approved a project proposal for the project implementation in middle of 2023.

The four main areas for support are:

• Overall Capacity Development,
• Mass valuation,
• Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) and
• Geodetic Infrastructure.

A total Grant of SEK 44 million was awarded for the project implementation, which includes all costs of the Lantmäteriet, which is in charge of implementation. The Project will be carried out during the period from the 1^st August 2023 to the 31^st July 2028 (the Activity Period).
